I hope you guys will not be disappointed with this one. It is the Brabus S900 by GT Spirit. But unfortunately this model is sold out, and is no longer available for purchase.
Let me say this first... this is one big a$$ coupe. Even in 1/18 scale. But it is super sexy....Well to quote Car and Driver "Brabus Rocket 900 Is a Batcrap-Crazy S65 AMG Coupe for the Filthy Rich". If you can't afford the real thing, GT Spirit reproduced one in 1/18th scale at a very affordable price.
For those not familiar with the Brabus 900, it is powered by a V12 turbo charged engine that spits out 887 horsepower and produces a crazy 1106 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm. 0-60 mph in 3.7 secs and top speed of 217 mph.
Actual production car
Here is a YouTube video of the Brabus 900. It sounds very mean...
When I opened the box to check for defects, one thing that really caught my eye is the clear transparent Sunroof. Typically for past GT models, they usually tint the sunroof. But not in this case. GT did not, and I am so happy they didn't do it.
Looking through the sunroof, the interior is highly visible. I really dig it. The clear sunroof really makes an impact on the model.
You can see GT paid more attention to details for interior.
Moving onto the other details on the model that I really liked were the disk brakes. GT did a excellent job replicating the ceramic disk brakes and the big gold Brabus calipers.
Other features GT did not miss were the front and rear spoilers, rear diffuser and carbon trims for the air outlets in the rear bumper.
One thing I am really disappointed with GT is why do they skimp out on the details for the B Pillar? They make a nice model, but the cheap out on the B Pillar detail. Printing the B Pillar on clear acetate plastic cheapens the look of the model.
Overall I really like this model. The paint finish is done very good. Panel lines are nicely reproduced (I wish it GT can make a deeper panel lines)
GT has produced another model subject that very few model manufactures will produce. I assume that may be licensing issues. GT only produced 1250 of the 900, and they are all sold out. If you have the chance to get one, I totally recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
I hope you guys enjoy the pics. Comments are welcomed.
